What a week. What a team.
Six days of outstanding racing, personal bests, finals, medals and unforgettable moments saw the City of Leeds Swimming Club Sharks once again prove they belong among the very best in the country.
Across the 2026 Swim England National Summer Meet, our swimmers delivered 7 medals, 17 top-five finishes, and 37 top-10 finishes, while countless personal bests and breakthrough performances highlighted the depth of talent throughout the club.
🥇 Medal Winners
- Emily Foster – Gold – 16 Years 50m Freestyle
- Jack Wade – Silver – 13/14 Years 400m Freestyle
- Elizabeth Bond – Silver – 13/14 Years 100m Freestyle
- Owen Tempest – Bronze – MC 100m Freestyle
- Ava Connell – Bronze – 17 Years 200m Butterfly
🌟 Outstanding Performances
- Jeffrey Lange and Leo Li both narrowly missed the podium with excellent 4th-place finishes.
- Sam Hill reached multiple finals, including a superb 4th in the 17 Years 100m Butterfly and 5th in the 200m Butterfly.
- Grace O, Oscar H, Patrick O, Arthur O, Emily F, Willow W, Zac W, Elkie F, Owen T, Florrie D, Will L, and many more represented the club brilliantly with finals appearances and top-10 finishes.
💙 More Than Medals
The week wasn’t just about podiums. It was about:
- Huge personal bests, including Zac W’s incredible 25-second PB in the 1500m Freestyle.
- Milestone swims, with Florrie D breaking the 30-second barrier in the 50m Butterfly and Will L swimming under one minute in the 100m Butterfly.
- Owen T producing exceptional performances in the MC events, racing against older and more experienced athletes throughout the week.
- Our youngest national qualifiers stepping onto the biggest stage with confidence, gaining invaluable championship experience.
