Gabriel Shepherd and Emma Wood proudly represented their home nations at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, marking a huge milestone in their swimming careers. Emma competed for Team Scotland, while Gabe represented Team England—an achievement that reflects years of dedication, hard work and commitment. Being selected for the Commonwealth Games, an event held only once every four years, is a remarkable honour and recognition of their talent.
Gabriel made an outstanding start to the Games by helping Team England win the silver medal in the Men’s 4×100m Freestyle Relay. Racing alongside established British stars James Guy and Jacob Whittle, as well as rising talent Jacob Mills, Gabe demonstrated that he belongs among the sport’s elite. His performance earned him a place on the Commonwealth podium and highlighted the years of training and perseverance behind his success. Gabe continued his impressive campaign by securing a second Commonwealth Games medal and progressing through to the semi-finals, capping off an exceptional competition.
Emma also enjoyed a fantastic Commonwealth Games, helping Team Scotland claim the silver medal in the Women’s 4×100m Medley Relay. Representing her country on home soil and standing on the Commonwealth podium was a fitting reward for her dedication, resilience and countless hours of training. Her achievement was a proud moment for both Team Scotland and the Sharks family.
Together, Emma and Gabe returned from Glasgow with outstanding performances and Commonwealth medals, inspiring teammates, coaches and supporters alike.
