The City of Leeds Swim­ming Club returned from a five year absence to storm to 3rd place in the 2011 Nation­al Are­na Swim­ming League Cup Final.

In the clos­est final for a num­ber of years the City of Leeds Swim­ming Club fin­ished in 3rd place, just 5 points ahead of Hatfield. 

Swim­ming in lane 1 the City of Leeds made a good start with 5 top 3 fin­ish­es in the first 10 events. How­ev­er after 16 events City of Leeds had dropped to 7th and the fight back began. 

The City of Leeds climbed grad­u­al­ly back up the leader board and by the time the final relay events began the City of Leeds were in 3rd place. In a tense finale the City of Leeds con­tin­ued their good work hold­ing onto a well deserved 3rd place. 

With 20 top 3 fin­ish­es includ­ing 4 event wins over the 50 events it was the City of Leeds con­sis­ten­cy that helped them to the their 3rd place finish.
